Discover Richmond: Getting to know the River City Discover Richmond: WOOF!

Discover Richmond: October 2016

Get to know the faces and places of the capital region!

It’s our annual guide to the area, and it’s full of personality – and personalities. For starters, we get up close and personal with 15 local notables, who share great stories with us (like how TV’s Sabrina Squire nearly got fired – or how author Dean King got fired upon while researching the Hatfield-McCoy feud).

Our 'From the Archives' 2017 photo wall calendar is the perfect gift.

This year, see Richmond from two perspectives--the then and now with this 12-month calendar featuring historic photos and their modern-day counterparts blended into 12 unique images.

It’s the dog days of summer, so we say … woof!

Of course, we love all sorts of animals, so we also cast a spotlight on some less predictable non-human friends – including horses, snakes and lemurs (yes, lemurs). But we scratch Fido behind the ears by looking at cool activities for dogs and their owners – plus other features with a canine twist.
